First, only send an email report if you really need to do so. Your school staff is very busy and does not need to have their limited time taken up investigating reports that may be very minor in nature. (For tips on what is bullying and should be reported, click here.) Second, do not falsify (make up) a report to try and get someone in trouble. Your school staff will ultimately find out the report is false and will most probably trace it back to you. Please don't take this chance and waste their valuable time.
In making the report, include the following:
what happened when it happened where it happened who did it You can put your name on the report if you want to be called down to talk about what happened. Ask the staff person specifically NOT to let the any other student know that you made the report. NOTE FOR SCHOOL STAFF: Email Tom Letson if you have questions on how to honor student anonymity while investigating the incident.
